Juliana Hotel, Paris
Paris, the city of light! Paris is an amazing city with so much to do, so many places to see, and a huge array of places to stay. For us though finding a beautiful, boutique hotel within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower was a must. We also wanted to be on the left bank close to the river. Our choice – the Juliana Hotel – did not disappoint. A truly beautiful place to call home for our three nights in Paris, on our Round the World adventure.
The Juliana Hotel, located in the heart of Paris’ seventh arrondissement, is perfectly located for sightseeing. It is close to many of the major attractions, in a lovely neighbourhood. Very nearby there are an abundance of tiny cafes and restaurants to eat at each night. Magnifique!
The Juliana, with its 40 rooms and suites, has been meticulously designed with close attention paid to each and every detail. From the grand entry that guides you up the stairs to the lobby and reception, to the many public spaces, this is truly a hotel designed for travellers with a love of the finer things in life.
Our choice of Paris hotel had a warm and inviting feel that made us want to come back… again and again!
Our room on the fourth floor was a wonderful sight for sore, travel weary eyes! Having flown in from New York via Helsinki, we were keen to get to the room, get organised, and get out and about in Paris! We were keen to start walking this amazing, historical city.
See our post about our business class flight from NYC to Helsinki, and about our visit to the first class lounge in Helsinki First Class Lounge. These two posts will give you all of details on how we got to Paris, on our Round the World adventure.
We had a gorgeous, king sized bed, and a superb coffee machine to go with the work desk and TV. We had a lovely view from our room overlooking the courtyard. This position also afforded us a view of some quaint Parisian apartments and that classic, winter blue sky that Paris does so well.
The Bathroom to Die For!
We love a great hotel bathroom! However, you know you have truly arrived at an amazing hotel, when you walk into your bathroom and think – Wow! The Juliana in Paris evoked exactly that reaction.
With beautifully designed features, like the one piece large basin, the soaking tub, and the rain shower, this bathroom had it all. Extra special features like a towel warmer, and monogrammed bathrobes, added to our luxurious, Paris experience.
The Rooftop Terrace… Oh What a View of Paris!
The hotel has a stunning rooftop terrace, which in the summer would get a lot of use. It was cold when we were there, but we couldn’t help ourselves! We went up each night for the fresh air and the view of Paris.
Yes, you can see the Eiffel Tower from the roof of this hotel! There is a something so special about that! We returned on the last night with a glass of exquisite French red and soaked in the atmosphere of this incredible city.
The Health Club
The Juliana Hotel has its on in-house health club. This incorporates a gym, sauna, and yoga spaces. The distinctly Moroccan feel, and high end luxury decor, make this a special place to spend some time focusing on you. Well worth a visit!
Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Well Not Quite, but Breakfast at Juliana’s is Very Good
The area around our Paris hotel had many cafes and little restaurants, which were perfect for meals any time of the day. A croissant and coffee at the patisserie for breakfast, is a wonderful start to the day. Lunch at a table by the river, people watching with a platter of cured meats and cheese – is heaven wrapped in Paris! Dinner at one of the many wonderful places nearby, savouring a french specialty, terrine or beef bourguignon, simply divine!
The Juliana also had its own delightful breakfast room, which made for a wonderful start to each day. With beautifully set tables, fresh coffee, pastries, fruit, cheese, and meat platters to die for, this was an awesome way to start a day. This would be especially true if you were planning a lot of walking around Paris.
Don’t miss this feast on your stay at the Juliana!
