One of the things I like about Emirates is their consistency. Their lounges are large, have a great selection of food and drinks, good wifi, and a wide range of different areas to sit, work or relax.
This lounge had the hallmark Emirates’ layout, colour palette and furniture. Emirates is able to deliver this lounge product consistently well across its vast network.
On arrival at the front desk, the associate warmly welcomed me and asked if I had visited this lounge before. Telling her that this was my first visit she explained the layout, with dining near the back and showers at the front. This allowed me to quickly get my bearings and navigate the lounge more efficiently.
I selected a seating area in the centre of the lounge to have a late lunch. I didn’t want to indulge too much though, as I was expecting to have a wide range of food options on the Emirates First Class flight in a short while.
I paired my lunch with a glass of Moët and Chandon champagne, which is always exceptional, and settled in to do some work.
Sadly there are no views from this lounge due to some nearby construction work. You may also want to avoid sitting near the entrance because it is considerably noisier than the rest of the lounge. The fast, reliable wifi allowed me to connect quickly and work easily.
Boarding commenced at 4.25pm. In Auckland you can’t board directly from the gate, as you can in many locations, so I had to walk about ten minutes to the gate. On my walk it was a plane spotter’s delight to see three Emirates A380s all lined up on the tarmac.
Not having travelled on Emirates’ First Class flight before, I was very excited about experiencing and reviewing this award winning offering. For the full details on that flight, follow this link, Emirates A380 First Class Flight Auckland to Brisbane.

Lounge options in Auckland are largely in need of improvement, however this tried and true Emirates lounge lived up to expectations and provided a calm oasis to work for an hour or so before the flight. With a full dining room and a wide range of food and drink, it caters to all tastes.
Entry is open to all Emirates Skywards Gold members, Emirates First and Business Class passengers, as well as Qantas Gold, Platinum and above frequent flyers. It is my preferred lounge option in Auckland, easily beating the Qantas First and Business Lounges next door.
